Palace wishes Erap good health on 70th birthday

Malacañang on Wednesday wished detained former president Joseph Estrada good health on his 70th birthday Thursday. “I can only wish him the best on the occasion of his birthday…Good health. He’s taking everything in stride under his situation. Happy birthday. [May you have] many more birthdays to come. Stay healthy," Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said in his weekly press conference. Ermita said it is up to the Sandiganbayan if it will finally hand down its decision on Estrada’s plunder case this year. He said the issue of a possible commutation, which is granted to convicts aged 70 and above, is also premature. Estrada has been granted a one-day reprieve by the anti-graft court on his birthday. He will undergo a medical check-up, visit his mother Doña Mary and meet with his supporters. Ermita also wished Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye good health on his 62nd birthday also on Thursday. - GMANews.TV
